Philip Nathan's original Britannia design from 1987 returns on the reverse of the 2012 Silver Britannia to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee for her 60th year on the throne. 2012 also marks the 15th anniversary of mintage for the Silver Britannia, making this coin a collectors item as well as a beautiful Silver bullion piece.

In keeping with tradition that dates back to the late 17th Century, the 2012 2 pound Silver Britannia is struck in the Britannia standard of 0.958 pure silver, making it the purest legal tender coin of the realm.
