The coin’s reverse displays John Mercanti’s updated United States national coat of arms. It grasps a banner reading “E PLURIBUS UNUM” in its beak, and its chest is decorated with a shield showing the US flag. 13 stars shine above the eagle’s head, representing the 13 colonies.
